This site contains information on the Local Government Pension Scheme Only. This scheme is relevant only to NON-TEACHING or NON-UNIFORMED staff. 

We do not currently have a web site for the Police and Fire Pension Schemes. Please contact us if you require any information on these schemes. 

If you are a teacher please contact Teachers' Pensions who administer your scheme. 

We have tried wherever possible not to use jargon on our site. This isn't always possible so where pension terms are used, they appear in italic orange text. The definition of the term can be viewed by moving your mouse over it. (move your mouse over the italic orange text to see how this works).

Due to it’s nature this site contains a lot of information. In attempting to make navigation easier it has been split into five sections which are represented by the five tabs at the top of each page. Clicking one of these tabs will take you to the part of this site that includes the information most relevant to you e.g. if you are already receiving a pension click "Pensioners".

While every care has been taken in the compilation of this information and every attempt made to present up-to-date and accurate information, we cannot guarantee that inaccuracies will not occur. It applies to individuals who were contributing members of the Local Government Pension Scheme on 1st April 1998 or who have since joined the Scheme.
