This section of the site is designed to assist members who are already in receipt of or are about to receive a pension. 

What is a Pensioner  ?

For the purposes of this website a pensioner is defined as :

  • A member who has retired from active pensionable employment and is entitled to receive a pension from their date of retirement.

  • A preserved member who left pensionable employment before their normal retirement date but who now has reached pensionable age and is eligible to receive a pension.

  • A widow or widower who receives a pension through the death of a member of the scheme.

  • A child who receives a pension through the death of a member of the scheme or a nominated person who receives a pension on behalf of the child (eg parent, guardian etc).

Annual Pension                    

When we calculate your benefits we will notify you of your annual pension. This amount is divided by twelve and paid as 12 equal monthly amounts and is subject to tax (there some exceptions to this where the annual amount is small). To read more on how your pension is paid – click here

Pension Reference Number

As a pensioner you will have been allocated a unique pension reference number, which you need to quote if you contact us. You can find this number on your notification of benefits letter or on your pension advice slip in the following format :
